500mlorange juice(adds sweetness and citrusy brightness)
500mlapple juice(balances the tartness with natural sweetness)
1orange(sliced, plus extra for garnish)
1cinnamon stick(aromatic spice)
4-5cloves(classic warm spice)
anise pod(adds a licorice-like complexity)
1small piece of fresh ginger(optional, for a spicy kick)
2-3tbsphoney or brown sugar(optional, adjust to taste)
500mlwater(to dilute and balance the flavors)
Instructions
Combine the Juices and SpicesIn a large pot, mix the cranberry juice, orange juice, apple juice, and water. Add the orange slices, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, and ginger (if using).
Heat the MixturePlace the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Avoid boiling, as this can dull the flavors of the spices and juices.
Sweeten to TasteStir in the honey or brown sugar, starting with 2 tablespoons. Taste and adjust the sweetness if necessary.
Simmer and InfuseReduce the heat to low and let the punch simmer gently for 20–30 minutes to allow the spices to fully infuse into the drink.
Strain and ServeRemove the pot from the heat and strain the punch to remove the spices and orange slices. Ladle the hot punch into mugs or heatproof glasses.
Garnish and EnjoyGarnish each serving with a fresh orange slice or a cinnamon stick for an extra festive touch. Serve warm and enjoy!
