Equipment

  • 1 Large pot

Ingredients

  • 1 l cranberry juice (tangy and vibrant base)
  • 500 ml orange juice (adds sweetness and citrusy brightness)
  • 500 ml apple juice (balances the tartness with natural sweetness)
  • 1 orange (sliced, plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (aromatic spice)
  • 4-5 cloves (classic warm spice)
  • anise pod (adds a licorice-like complexity)
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger (optional, for a spicy kick)
  • 2-3 tbsp honey or brown sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 500 ml water (to dilute and balance the flavors)

Instructions

  • Combine the Juices and Spices
In a large pot, mix the cranberry juice, orange juice, apple juice, and water. Add the orange slices, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, and ginger (if using).
  • Heat the Mixture
Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Avoid boiling, as this can dull the flavors of the spices and juices.
  • Sweeten to Taste
Stir in the honey or brown sugar, starting with 2 tablespoons. Taste and adjust the sweetness if necessary.
  • Simmer and Infuse
Reduce the heat to low and let the punch simmer gently for 20–30 minutes to allow the spices to fully infuse into the drink.
  • Strain and Serve
Remove the pot from the heat and strain the punch to remove the spices and orange slices. Ladle the hot punch into mugs or heatproof glasses.
  • Garnish and Enjoy
Garnish each serving with a fresh orange slice or a cinnamon stick for an extra festive touch. Serve warm and enjoy!
